Zoe - Professional Pet Service Provider & Owner
Hello,
My name is Zoe and I am the owner of Lady And The Hounds. I am fully insured, disclosure checked and certified in canine behaviour. I can guarantee that your pet will be in safe hands while under my care.
As a child one of my most memorable experiences with animals was being out with my Grandpa and his Labradors. He taught me how to really understand your dog and how that bond can become something quite remarkable. Learning this at a very young age and seeing the outcome of a man and dog in a working environment is something that I strived for and from then my love for dogs really began to flourish.
I was very fortunate to soon after get my first dog, Cooper. An 8 week old Beagle pup. He was my childhood best friend and was always there beside me through the typical challenges faced while I grew up. We went everywhere together. He was such an amazing little dog who was loved and adored by everyone who met him. Together we embarked on the beginning of something special. We trained on everything I could have possibly thought of and he blew the minds of many people who had a stereotypical mindset that a beagle was stubborn and "un-trainable". We also participated in sports such as Cani-Cross, Agility, Beagles Racing ( Yes it is a thing!) and Obedience trials. He gave his all to everything we did and for that I really couldn't have asked for a better companion to kick start my passion for dogs.
I have been lucky in having a hands on experience, with not only dogs but a wide variety of animals. I have shared my life with cats, rabbits, horses, goats, birds and even a tortoise. Each and every one of them teaching me and expanding my already growing knowledge. During my high school years my love for animals remained as I would walk neighbours dogs at the weekend alongside completing my diploma in Canine Psychology. I left school and bagged myself my first 'proper' job working at the local kennel and cattery. I was one of the team who took care of the welfare of all the boarded animals on a day-to-day basis ensuring each of them were treated accordingly and loved until their owners returned. I then moved to London where I worked in the Fashion Industry. A completely opposite career path from what I was used to. No mud, no soggy dogs and no walking boots! I must say my time in London was not regretted. I learned more about myself, met some extraordinary people but most importantly it really cemented what I wanted to do... I wanted to work with Dogs.
My most recent role once I returned back to Scotland was working for a Stirlingshire Dog Walking company, where I gained valuable skills on how to successfully run as a Pet Service Provider. During my time there I studied more about the domesticated dog and still continuing to do so on the different training techniques we can use to communicate with our four-legged friends.
Which brings us to the year 2020... The opening of Lady And The Hounds. Where your pets are understood, loved and treated as one of my own. To provide a reliable and friendly service is a promise.
